We recently heard from the team in Ecuador. This was another great day for the tour and adaptation for the team and I think I will let the photos and summary of one of our teammates do all the talking!

After walking early in the morning at Otavalo Market, said to be one of the oldest markets in South America, the team made its first investment in adaptation. A beautiful ride on the outskirts of Ecuador led the team to Lago Mojando. The team left the vehicle and headed uphill to Foya Foya. A beautiful winding hike through Ecuador’s high pastures found the team on the Foya Foya Peak block. A short fourth-class scramble put everyone at a peak at 13,986 feet. After descending through the clouds, the team quickly returned to Ottawa, where they enjoyed a traditional dinner with a show featuring the indigenous cocoa-chocolate process.

Tomorrow, the team will continue to climb Imbabora (15,109 minutes). This is the 11th tallest volcano in Ecuador! After this climb, the team will be transferred to Cayambe.
