The Ecuadorian team returned to Quito
18 November 2021
IMG guides Kim Siradzki and Romulo Cardenas called early today to check in and let us know that although it was a beautiful day to climb, the mountain called Chimborazo (20,549 minutes) had something else to say. The team woke up early in the morning and began to see if the mountain conditions allowed them to access the high mountain. After reaching the top camp in Chimborazo, it was quite clear that with the new snow of the last few days, we did not know it on the cards. Snow, along with wind, created the conditions for avalanche concerns. The team was tough but the right decision was made to retreat. As you can see in the pictures, not everything is reaching the summit, the scenery was worth climbing and the team is now celebrating its success on the trip to Quito.
Everything is fine in Ecuador!
