Following the departure of Patrice Colazo, former Münster boss James Koglan will take over the reins of French club Toulon.

James C.Oglan, who joined the French team as a defensive coach last summer, now has to prepare Toulon for the weekend. They have an important clash in the top 14 against Biarritz this Saturday afternoon.

Toulon has spent a lot of money to ensure success this summer. They recently signed World Cup winner Cheslin Kolbe, but they still have a bad start to the season, with five defeats in eight games, which ended at the expense of former coach Kolazo.

Kuglen played 137 games for Munster before ending his career at Pao. The former striker has since made his way into French club rugby.

The 40-year-old started his coaching career with Pao Academy before joining the X as a forward coach. This subsequently led to a transfer to Brive, before Toulon secured its services last summer.

Kuglen is not the only Irishman to be part of the Toulon team. Former Connacht and Ireland Quinn Roux is part of the team. He hopes to help the team that is currently ranked second in the top 14.

Former Clermont boss Frank Azma is expected to be named Toulon’s new manager at a news conference on Friday.

Toulon’s next match will be at 14:00 on Saturday, October 30 at Biarritz House.
