Hiking Trekking Damavand Mountain
Mt. Damavand is a wonderful shaped cone volcano having a small snowy top. This looks like Mt Fuji inside Japan. Mountain Damavand dormant volcano is closely eighty kilometres North East of capital city Tehran in the north Persian plateau. Damavand Iran white-colored peak and its particular beautiful ordinary cloud cover is the mainly beautiful picture of Iran mountains.

Examining base layers is seldom a favorite for gear reviewers, as they are “only” base layers and are concerned with wick changes, heat, fit, odor resistance, SPF, and durability. On the other hand, they are essential for any garment system and often play a role in comfort relative to their cost.

Artilect is a new company in the market with a complete layering system being developed for phased release. Unfortunately for Artilect, their first show coincided with a global epidemic, but they negotiated the hurdle, launched their first product, and appear to be on track for future releases. I have to try them A / SYS 1 DARKHORSE Regional Crew And their legs are made of Nuyarn®, a New Zealand spinning method that pulls Merino along a high-performance core fiber – in this case, I believe, nylon. The result looks amazing compared to ordinary merino base coat fabric:

  • 5 times faster drying time
  • 35% more traction
  • 35% more roof (less weight)
  • 50% more durable
  • 20% less raw materials

Now I can not guarantee these figures from my own use in any objective way, but I can say that the claim of improved durability and drying time is clearly evident. Core fiber can be a variety of materials – in fact, in a conversation with some of the Artilect team, they come up with a lightweight hood that uses banana-derived fiber that provides the best SPF factor of any natural fiber! Anyway, go back to the base layers in the review. DARKHORSE is a crew neck weighing 185 grams per meter with a technically zoned structure that aims to further increase breathing and mobility. For this purpose, dark panels are perforated to increase respiration and are strategically placed on the sides / under the arm, elbow and back. The structure is completely first class with locked seams and has features such as micro cord suspension ring and thumb rings. The thumb rings are a good indication of Artilect’s attention to detail, as you can see from the photo that the part that attaches to the “fever” of your thumb is not locked, but it is a kind of rolled seam so that you do not do this. Apply more intense stitching on your thumb – a quality touch.

After several months of abrasion and washing, the procedure is perfectly maintained and there is no trace of abrasion. In terms of the small size I got on my 5-inch, 8-inch, and 36-inch chests, it seemed like a bit of a test case on the smaller side because it was more limited during epidemiological reviews – all of which seem to have been corrected. With the original production period, as a result, my only wrinkle with my top was the tightness of the cuff seam, so I tried to roll up the sleeves, it was possible, but it was just a struggle and it was not really easy! I did not use a lot of tights because it was too hot, but almost the same comments apply as “appropriate” for a while, even without a thumb hole 😉 (Update I can confirm that the production versions make it easier to roll up the sleeves)

In use
Weighing in at 185 grams, the A / SYS 1 DARKHORSE is what is typically considered a mid-weight top, but in many ways it hits a little higher than its weight. The structure of the fabric gives a little more wind resistance than usual with the base layer without apparently compromising breathability. On a sunny spring day in the lakes, I did a 30-kilometer run at temperatures between 4 and 14 degrees Celsius with a bit of a breeze, and I felt comfortable either along a breeze ridge or walking down a steep slope. When I applied another layer, it was time to stop for our sarns. I did not have the chance to test it in sub-zero winter conditions, but the initial harvest is very good. A / SYS 1 DARKHORSE, in addition to being warmer than a regular merino with the same weight and with a significant difference in wind resistance, dries faster. Merino is an amazing fabric in many ways. It regulates temperature, no stench, etc., but its Achilles heel usually (like all wools) dries later than synthetic materials and is less resistant to abrasion. The structure of Nuyarn is much more competitive in both respects – it may not be at the level of the best synthetic materials, but it has improved significantly compared to conventional merino, but still retains the quality of merino heat regulation and odor resistance.

  • Odor resistant
  • Comfortable in a range of temperatures
  • Drying faster than regular merino

Negative

  • A little convenient, but these may just be media examples.
